Landon's new look!

About a month or so ago I noticed that Landon had a slightly brown tooth. He was past due for a dentist appointment so I called and scheduled an appointment. We went to a new dentist because the dentist we went to before is too far away now that we have moved. I found a closer dentist and scheduled an appointment. A couple weeks ago we took them to the dentist. Emma who has freaked out before with the dentist did extremely well. We asked the Dentist about Landon's brown tooth. He checked it out and it turned out to be infected. The dentist told us the tooth would have to be pulled. This morning he had his dentist appointment to get his tooth pulled. Dave took the day off work and took Landon to the dentist and I stayed home with Emma and Reagan. I took some pictures this morning so I would have the before and after. However, the camera was being really weird this morning and took some pretty scary pictures. Landon literally looked like a zombie. It was freaky. So the before picture is not from today. I did get a good after picture. When Landon got home from the dentist he was still recovering from the drugs. He couldn't eat breakfast for an hour and he had to keep his head up. If he wanted to lay down he had to lay down flat so he wouldn't choke. When the drugs started to wear off he got a little emotional saying "I want my tooth back" and started crying. It was very sad but I told him that it would be ok. He calmed down. Now Landon has a new look and will have this look for the next couple years. I'm sure he will get used to it.

Mischief in the Making

Today I was cleaning my bedroom. Reagan was in there with me and was being kind of quiet. Emma wanted a heart chocolate left over from Valentines Day. Reagan's heart shaped container that I decorated and filled with candy was in my room. I opened it and found a heart chocolate and a few M&M's and gave the heart chocolate to Emma and took the M&M's out to give to Reagan. Reagan was on the floor over by my side of the bed. When I went over to her I found out that she had found a Godiva Chocolate bar and had taken the wrapper off and had it in her mouth. The chocolate bar was in my Reading Basket that I got from my mom for Christmas. You would think that after having 3 kids it would click that quiet=mischief. When it is quiet you know that they are getting into something that they shouldn't. I had to take the opportunity to take some pictures, so I ran downstairs and grabbed my camera. I took a few pictures then took the chocolate away. Of course, Reagan started crying. I broke off a piece and gave it to her, then also gave one to Emma and Landon. Spaghetti Sauce Recipe and My Card Technique for February

A couple of years ago I bought a "Fix it and Forget it" cookbook. I love this cookbook. I have tried a bunch of recipes from it. One of my favorite ones is a Spaghetti Sauce recipe. It is so good. Ever since I first tried it a few years ago I always use it to make my own spaghetti sauce. I never use store bought sauce except for other things. This sauce is the best. When we go on vacation with my side of the family, this is the recipe that is requested by others on our night to be in charge of dinner. I actually made this last Friday for dinner and meant to post the recipe. Then I forgot about it until Jamie called yesterday to get the recipe from me. I have made it so much I have the page number memorized in the cookbook and I turn right to it when I want to make it. So here is the recipe:

Slow Cooker Spaghetti Sauce:

1 lb. ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
2 14-oz. cans tomatoes diced, with juice
6-oz. can tomato paste
8-oz. can tomato sauce
1 bay leaf
4 garlic cloves, minced
2 tsp. dried oregano
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. dried basil
1 Tbsp. brown sugar
1/2-1 tsp. dried thyme

Brown meat and onion in saucepan. Drain well. Transfer to slow cooker. Add remaining ingredients. Cover. Cook on low 7 hours. If the sauce seems too runny, remove lid during last hour of cooking.

I have made a couple changes to this recipe. I always add an extra can of tomato sauce and I also usually cook it for 8 hours and not 7. But trust me, it is so good!

I also finished my card technique for the month today. It is a card I started a couple weeks ago and just barely got around to finishing today. There was just way to much going on this month to finish it earlier. This card is called a criss-cross card and I got the idea off a website http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/. They have a bunch of really cute ideas on that website that I want to try. Instead of telling you step by step how it is done you can go to that website under resources and it will tell you step by step how it is made. These are my pictures of the card I made.

The Greatest Love Story Ever Told

As everyone knows yesterday was Valentines Day. For the special day I made Dave a scrapbook called "The Greatest Love Story Ever Told." It was made from a kit that I ordered from Creating Keepsakes at the beginning of January. It was a big project but I really enjoyed doing it. I also added some of my own stuff from Stampin' Up! They now offer rub-ons and they are so cute. Anyway here are some pictures of the completed project.

Who eats more? Definately Dave. He can come home from work and eat a sandwich 1/2 hour before dinner is ready

Who asked out who first? I did twice. I asked Dave to my company Christmas party. About 2 weeks before the party I got hockey tickets at work and asked him to the hockey game. By the party 2 weeks later we had been on 5 dates.
Who proposed? Dave twice. Once unofficially and once officially
Who has more siblings? Dave. He has 2 biological sisters, 5 biological brother and another brother and sister in his adopted family. I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

The Best Laid Plans...

This week is Family week at Landon's school. Each day they have different activities. Some of them are at night, others while they are in school. Last night they had family skate night at Classic Skating Center. We thought it would be fun to take Landon and Emma. They keep saying that they want to go skating. Emma even wanted a pair of roller skates for Christmas last year but Santa thought she was too young so he didn't bring her any. We dropped Reagan off at my mom's house so Dave and I could help out Landon and Emma. I rented roller blades for myself and Dave, Landon, and Emma got skates. I made it around the track once and Landon and Emma couldn't even walk in their skates. We decided to bag the roller skating and go bowling instead. Before going to the bowling alley we took Landon and Emma to Burger King for dinner. While we were waiting for the food we let Landon and Emma play on the playground. Then we ate. Landon and Emma love eating at a restaurant or even going through a drive through. Sometimes I don't know what they like more, my cooking or fast food. They did have fun at Burger King though. Personally I think they have the best french fries!

Then we went to the bowling alley. They told us that it would be a 10 minute wait. Dave and I played a couple games of air hockey. Dave won the first game and I won the second game. When they called our name we went to pay and get our shoes. They told us the price was $29.00. We couldn't afford that so we didn't get to go bowling after all. I think we will start job charts and use that as a reward after 2 months of doing their chores. Is it just me or does anyone else think the bowling shoe rental should be included in the bowling price and not seperate?

We went and picked up Reagan from my mom's house and then we were going to get ice cream from Arctic Circle and let the kids play there, but it was already getting late and Dave had to go to Mindy and Marty's to do some electrical work. Landon and Emma were a little disappointed but we just went home and gave them ice cream and then they took showers and got ready for bed. Oh well! They do say "The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry." Maybe we will have better luck next time.
