My Blonde Moment and A Big THANK YOU!!!

Q:Why don't blondes double recipes?
A:The oven doesn't go to 700 degrees.

I have often said in the past that I think I must have been blonde in the pre-existance because there were times that I was quite ditzy. I don't think that blondes are necessarily like that but it is fun to joke about. I haven't had a "blonde moment" for quite some time so I guess I was a litte overdue.

Today for dinner I decided to make something in the crockpot. I love using the crockpot and use it often. I think it is so easy to start something in the morning, have it cook all day long and then have a good meal when it is time to eat. This morning I got all the ingredients in the crockpot to make a recipe called "Beef, Noodles, and Tomatoes." It is a really good beef and tomato sauce that you serve over noodles. My crockpot is one that is programmable. You put the ingredients in and then you push the button to set it for 4,6,8,or 10 hours. Well about 3 hours after putting in the ingredients in the crockpot I went to look at it and noticed that the lid was not steamed up or anything. Then I looked down and realized that I forgot to set the time on the crockpot. I set the time and it started cooking. Now dinner is not going to be ready until about 9:00. Dave gets of from his part-time job at 9:30 so I will eat with him when he gets home from work. As for the kids, well I made them some mac n' cheese. I don't want them to have to wait until 9:30 to eat. Anyway if anyone is interested here is the recipe:

Beef, Tomatoes, and Noodles

1 1/2 lbs. stewing beef, cubed
1/4 cup flour
2 cups stewed tomatoes (if you like tomato chunks), of 2 cups crushed tomatoes (if you prefer a smoother gravy
1 tsp. salt
1/4-1/2 tsp pepper
1 medium onion, chopped
water
12-oz. bag noodles

Combine meat and flour until cubes are coated. Place in slow cooker. Add tomatoes, salt, pepper, and onion. Add water to cover. Cover. Simmer on low 6-8 hours. Serve over cooked noodles.

I also want to say a BIG THANK YOU to my cousin Rachael. She helped me with redoing the header on my blog. I think that it turned out really nice. I really need to learn more about the computer. It would be nice to know how to do things like that. So Thanks again to Rachael.

Heck-we all know (at least those in the B. Lifferth family) that 9:30 can not be considered a 'late' dinner time. I dare say that it is actually considered to be on time, if not early. Anyway, it looks like a good recipe, I'll have to try it sometime. Rachael did a very good job on your blog header-it is very cute!

If that was your blonde moment...then you are a pretty smart pre-existence blonde. Thanks for the laugh! And that isn't too late for dinner!

Rachael and Sean must be cut from the same mold! These computer people are awesome :)

Blonde moments are the story of my life. Good thing I have blonde hair so people never really question my actions...

I also really enjoy doing crockpot dinners but I don't do them very often and I don't know why. Probably because I don't have very many recipes. I will have to try this one and add it to my small collection.

I will have to try this recipe! I made the chicken nuggets the other night and it was a big hit! Even my pickiest eater ate a lot when he realized they were chicken nuggets. It will be hard to eat any other kind of them now!! And don't worry about blonde moments, I have a lot, I think that's why Brady married me...to keep him entertained!!

I think as a woman that has had children, 'blonde' moments are to be expected. Yours isn't so bad. I have put ice cream in the fridge...twice!!!

This post makes me feel better...I actually do stuff like that all the time! I've run the washer...without putting clothes in it. Put clothes in the dryer...and forgot to turn it on. The other day I cooked some rolls in the toaster oven and forgot to clear off the stuff that was sitting on top of it. I melted an expensive computer part as a result...Hunter will never let me live that one down! Yikes.

And, thanks for the thanks! You are such a sweetie. Your header was super easy, and I didn't mind at all. :)
